Snare Books is a Montreal-based publisher of contemporary poetry and prose fiction. Our mandate is to publish emerging and innovative writers who work in the experimental Canadian literary tradition. We plan to focus primarily on poetry, as well as publishing the occasional experimental novel or short story collection.
Snare Books was founded by Jon Paul Fiorentino and Robert Allen in the early spring of 2006, and is owned and operated by Jon Paul Fiorentino. The decision to establish Snare Books came out of a long conversation regarding the state of the literary arts in Canada. While more and more small literary presses are shifting their attention to publishing commercial fiction, genre fiction, and mainstream poetry, Snare Books endeavours to provide a space for the innovator.
